During the NAB State Leadership Conference, the organization honored the 2025 Crystal Radio Award winners, recognizing ten stations for their outstanding community service efforts, from hurricane relief to mental health initiatives. Hubbard Broadcasting’s WJJY in Brainerd, Minnesota, received the prestigious Crystal Heritage Award for winning five Crystal Radio Awards, joining just 12 other stations in this elite category. The ten winning stations included WTVB (Tampa/St. Petersburg), WWBX (Boston), KSFI (Salt Lake City), and WCBS (New York City), among others. Established in 1987, the NAB Crystal Radio Awards celebrate excellence in local radio’s role in community engagement. Winners were chosen from 50 finalists by a panel of industry and public service professionals. NAB highlighted radio’s continued impact, with President Curtis LeGeyt stating, “These stations exemplify the spirit of local radio, making a tangible difference in the communities they serve.” The event underscored broadcasters’ vital role in public service.
