Senator Tuberville Pushes to Defund NPR.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) is urging Congress to defund NPR, labeling it “National Propaganda Radio” and accusing the public broadcaster of being “an arm of the Democrat party bought and paid for by American taxpayers.” Tuberville supports the No More Funding for NPR Act introduced by Rep. Dale Strong (R-AL), who called NPR “a mouthpiece for the far left.” Tuberville added, “Once NPR loses its federal funding, perhaps they will consider making an attempt at unbiased reporting.” Tesla CEO and Government Efficiency leader Elon Musk echoed the sentiment on X, stating, “Defund NPR. It should survive on its own.” The House Subcommittee on DOGE, led by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), will hold a hearing in March on NPR and PBS’s alleged partisan bias. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has also requested an investigation into NPR and PBS for potential violations of federal laws regarding underwriting acknowledgments.
