The National Association of Farm Broadcasting has opened registration for its 82nd annual convention, scheduled for November 19–21 in Kansas City. Themed “The Place to Be,” the 2025 event promises a full slate of professional development, networking, and industry updates for broadcasters, ag professionals, students, and communicators.
Hundreds of attendees are expected to take part in Newsmaker Sessions covering topics such as global trade, market outlooks, and agricultural water policy. Sessions on AI integration, evolving sales strategies, and industry storytelling will offer hands-on learning for broadcasters and communicators at all career levels.
The convention will also include tailored content for early-career attendees and students pursuing agricultural media. A dedicated track of programming for young professionals will provide guidance on career development, networking, and digital media skills.
Another highlight is the Night of Honors Banquet, a longtime tradition recognizing excellence across farm broadcasting. Awards will be presented to individuals and stations that have made significant contributions to ag journalism and rural communities.
Also returning is the signature Trade Talk event, where farm broadcasters conduct interviews with representatives from ag companies, government agencies, commodity groups, and associations. Trade Talk serves as a major content-gathering and relationship-building opportunity for NAFB members and their stations.
NAFB President-Elect and Convention Chair DeLoss Jahnke said the 2025 convention will be packed with value. “November means NAFB Convention for our members and so many in the ag industry. This year, it’s definitely the place to be with a great line-up of professional development, education and newsmaker sessions; our Night of Honors that celebrates the best in the industry; plus our annual Trade Talk that connects farm broadcasters with ag companies and organizations making news.”
The convention will take place at the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center, a central and long-standing venue for the event. Registration and additional information are now available at the official NAFB website.
