New data released from Edison Research at Social Science Research Solutions shows that AM/FM radio reaches 56 percent of adults daily, nearly doubling the combined ad-supported daily reach of Spotify, Pandora, and podcasts combined.
The findings offer commercial radio sales managers concrete empirical backing when pitching local retail and national agency buyers who seek mass reach without audience duplication.
Among consumers listening to either broadcast radio or digital audio, 55 percent listen exclusively to AM/FM radio. Additional political audience findings published from the study indicate that Republicans are 17 percent more likely than the average adult population to listen to AM/FM radio on a typical day, making broadcast radio a prime channel for political ad spend leading into upcoming elections.
