Chair answers GOP concerns.

FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel is addressing concerns from House Republicans regarding the Commission’s approval of Audacy’s Chapter 11 restructuring, which involves ties to George Soros. The approval assigned nearly 57% of Audacy’s Class A stock to Laurel Tree Opportunities Corporation, linked to Soros’s Fund for Policy Reform, raising alarms about foreign ownership exceeding the 25% limit. In a letter, Rosenworcel clarified that the FCC followed established procedures, ensuring foreign interests had no control through warrants instead of direct stock. She emphasized that the FCC’s actions adhered to First Amendment protections, and any foreign ownership above 25% would still require approval post-restructuring.
