The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) will honor former CBS Radio CEO Dan Mason with the 2025 Edward F. McLaughlin Lifetime Achievement Award during the Golden Mic Award Gala at New York’s Plaza Hotel on March 10. Mason, who led CBS Radio as CEO from 2007 to 2015, is credited with expanding its digital presence and overseeing 117 stations across 26 markets. BFOA President Tim McCarthy said, “Dan is the perfect candidate for this prestigious award. His commitment to advancing the broadcast business, especially into the digital space, is well-known.” Mason expressed gratitude, saying, “Broadcasting gave me a career I love. Many broadcasters across our country face tragedies, leaving them in need of help. That’s why I support the Broadcasters Foundation’s mission.” BFOA Chair Scott Herman added, “Dan’s leadership helped define today’s broadcasting industry.” Scripps Sports President Brian Lawlor will also be honored as the 2025 Golden Mic Award recipient.
