State broadcasters set agenda for upcoming DC fly-in.

State broadcast associations are finalizing their priorities for the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) State Leadership Conference, scheduled for early March in Washington, D.C. The annual event will see station owners and state executives meeting with lawmakers to press for the passage of the “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act,” which remains a top safety concern for the industry. According to the official agenda released by the NAB, the conference will also focus on the competitive imbalances in the digital ad market and the potential for a new performance tax on local radio stations. The Virginia Association of Broadcasters notes that the event will include specific sessions on how station leaders can effectively communicate the value of local broadcasting to a divided Congress.
