Recent market data released by Nielsen and Edison Research reveals that traditional and digital streaming radio combined to secure 62 percent of daily ad-supported audio consumption among adults aged 18 and older. According to the quarterly report, podcasts claimed a 20 percent share of listening time, while ad-supported music streaming platforms captured 16 percent. Within specific programming categories, News and Talk formats led all radio listening with a 10.9 percent share, reflecting a slight increase over the previous quarter. All News formats also grew, reaching 2.9 percent. Conversely, Adult Contemporary listening fell back to its historical baseline of 7.1 percent following holiday broadcast spikes. Country music programming remained unchanged at 5.8 percent. Among younger listeners aged 18 to 34, Classic Hits increased to 5.4 percent and Hot Adult Contemporary climbed to 5.6 percent, a trend driven by high-profile album debuts and music industry awards. Urban Adult Contemporary held its position at 5.1 percent, while Mexican Regional experienced modest growth to finish at 3.1 percent overall.
