Radio fuels next meal decisions.

Quick service restaurants attract customers across generations, from teens seeking snacks to professionals grabbing lunch. Consumers both accept and expect food messages on radio, which bolsters the medium’s credibility for the category. A Katz Radio Group study found that fast food diners who visit at least weekly are highly responsive to radio ads, with familiar sounds and jingles often triggering cravings before reaching the drive-thru.

Katz’s survey shows radio holds a prime place in the decision-making process, often sparking interest before digital ads or social media can. Exposure to audio ads resulted in a measurable lift in intent, with targeted consumers 4% to 7% more likely to visit. This lift demonstrates radio’s ability to influence immediate behavior and drive in-store traffic.
