NextKast, developer of the all-in-one automation platform NextKast OnAir, today announced the launch of NextTraffic, a built-in traffic and billing system designed to simplify operations and reduce costs for independent radio broadcasters. NextTraffic is fully integrated into the NextKast OnAir platform, serving as a complete alternative to third-party traffic systems. For stations already using an external traffic system, NextKast OnAir continues to support seamless third-party integration.
NextTraffic automates the entire advertising workflow directly inside NextKast OnAir, eliminating the need for separate software, exports, and manual reconciliation. The result is a single, streamlined system that keeps revenue flowing with minimal staff involvement.
“For independent broadcasters, traffic and billing are often the most time-consuming and frustrating parts of the business,” said Winston Potgieter, Founder and Lead Developer of NextKast. “We built NextTraffic so stations can spend less time managing ads and more time growing revenue. The system doesn’t just manage traffic; it lets ads manage themselves!”
At the core of the system is a patent-pending Traffic Tag System that embeds unique, data-rich tags into every commercial. Each tag contains scheduling information including campaign details, dates, rates, and frequency. This allows ads to automatically schedule, verify, and log themselves without spreadsheets. A single ad with an embedded tag can be sent to multiple stations and schedule itself automatically based on campaign parameters.
Megan Medley, a beta tester and Co-Owner of Star Country 104.5 in Pueblo, Colorado, noted, “The NextTraffic system is truly one of a kind, making order entry and ad scheduling incredibly simple and efficient. Invoicing for both local and national accounts is streamlined in a way that saves time and reduces headaches.”
The system automates the lifecycle through remote client and order entry using StudioLink, asset matching, automated scheduling, and instant branded invoices and proof-of-play reports.
