President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Olivia Trusty as FCC Commissioner has received bipartisan praise from current FCC Commissioners. Trusty, Policy Director for the Senate Subcommittee on Communications since 2019, brings extensive experience from roles in Congress, including with the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Chairman-designate Brendan Carr stated, “I extend my congratulations to Olivia Trusty. Her distinguished career on Capitol Hill and in the private sector, combined with her expertise in communications policy, will serve her well at the FCC. I look forward to working together.” Commissioner Nathan Simington added via X, “Congratulations to Olivia Trusty on her nomination to the FCC! I look forward to working with her.” Democratic Commissioner Geoffrey Starks commented, “She is a committed public servant and effective policymaker, which will benefit the agency and the American people.” Commissioner Anna Gomez echoed, “Olivia is widely respected and a consummate professional. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with her.”
