Goldman
The National Association of Broadcasters named Bert Goldman and Harvey Arnold the recipients of the 2026 NAB Engineering Achievement Awards. They will be recognized April 21 at the 2026 NAB Show (https://nabshow.com/2026/) in Las Vegas. Since 1959, these awards have highlighted outstanding accomplishments in the broadcast industry.
Bert Goldman, owner and president of Goldman Engineering Management, receives the 2026 Radio Engineering Achievement Award. With a career spanning over 50 years, Goldman is a nationally respected expert in AM and FM spectrum analysis. He has previously served as corporate vice president of engineering for ABC/Disney Radio Division, Nationwide Communications, Patterson Broadcasting, and Shamrock Broadcasting. Goldman has managed the design and construction of more than 50 radio stations and is known for his deep expertise in FCC rules and directional AM antenna system design. Harvey Arnold, senior vice president of engineering for Sinclair Broadcast Group, is the recipient of the 2026 Television Engineering Achievement Award. Since joining Sinclair in 1998, Arnold has led transmission operations with a recent focus on accelerating the industry transition to ATSC 3.0. He is also collaborating with NAB to develop the Broadcast Positioning System (BPS). Before Sinclair, Arnold spent 17 years with North Carolina Public Television and participated in the FCC Advisory Committee for Advanced Television Service to guide the digital television rollout.
Arnold is a SMPTE Fellow and a former chairman of the NAB TV Technology Committee. Both honorees have dedicated decades to advancing broadcast technology through leadership in organizations like the SBE, AFCCE, and IEEE.
