The Media Rating Council has issued an initial set of guidelines targeting the use of artificial intelligence in audio measurement and digital ad workflows. Developed alongside the Interactive Advertising Bureau and major advertising associations, the framework applies existing data standards to AI technologies to ensure operational transparency and fraud detection.
A secondary phase scheduled for completion in early 2027 will establish entirely new metrics specifically addressing unresolved gaps in podcast downloads, programmatic auction mechanics, and automated web scraping data.
Local radio managers and digital directors can use these evolving standards to hold measurement vendors accountable for how automated systems quantify audience reach and ad verification.
