Brian Lawlor, President of Scripps Sports, will receive the 2025 Golden Mic Award from the Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA). The award will be presented at the Foundation’s annual fundraiser on March 10 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Recognizing excellence in broadcasting and community service, the award has previously honored industry leaders like Bob Pittman, Jordan Wertlieb, and Jack Abernethy. Since becoming Scripps Sports President in 2022, Lawlor has overseen strategic sports partnerships for the ION Network and local stations. During his tenure leading Scripps’ Local Media division, he expanded the company’s station portfolio from 10 to 61. Named “Broadcast Television’s Best Leader” in 2021, Lawlor also serves on the boards of the BFOA and NAB Leadership Foundation. Expressing gratitude, Lawlor highlighted the Foundation’s mission to aid broadcasters in need. BFOA Chair Scott Herman praised Lawlor’s contributions to broadcasting and his dedication to advancing the Foundation’s mission.
