Indiana association hosts small market radio roundtable.

The Indiana Broadcasters Association convened its Small Market Radio Roundtable on April 16 at the Wayne County Historical Museum in Richmond, Indiana. This gathering specifically targeted general managers and owners from stations outside the state’s major metropolitan hubs, focusing on practical survival strategies for local operators. The sessions addressed the integration of artificial intelligence into day-to-day management and the expanding role of stations as community-focused digital publishers.

Dave Doetsch of Mid-West Radio led a featured discussion on how local stations can successfully transition into community publishing roles to protect their local dominance. The program also tackled the technical and financial hurdles of streaming for smaller clusters. This event highlights a growing trend among state organizations to provide localized, hands-on training that larger national conventions may overlook. For a small-market operator, these strategies for community publishing and AI efficiency are critical for maintaining relevance against national digital competitors.
