Brendan Carr issues license warning to radio stations.

Broadcasters are facing a direct warning regarding their content and license renewals. The FCC chairman took to social media over the weekend to caution station owners about the potential for losing their broadcast permits. The chairman stated that when stations come up for renewal, those found to be airing what he characterized as “fake news” or misinformation could find their licenses in jeopardy. This stance suggests a more aggressive regulatory oversight of on-air content than has been typical in recent years.
