BFOA expands summer series to Austin.

The Broadcasters Foundation of America has announced its 2025 Summer Event Series, which features the return of several signature events and the addition of a new stop in Austin. The lineup includes two Media Mixers, the annual Giving Day, and the 27th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament.

The series begins on Thursday, June 18, with BFOA Giving Day, a national appeal for donations to support broadcasters in financial need. That evening, the Media Mixers networking event returns to New York City at iHeartMedia’s headquarters. The event coincides with the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation’s 50th Gracie Awards Luncheon and invites industry professionals to connect and celebrate the broadcasting community.

For the first time, BFOA will bring its Media Mixers series to Texas. Media Mixers Austin is scheduled for Friday, August 8, at the Austin Marriott Downtown, in conjunction with Morning Show Boot Camp. The event aims to expand the Foundation’s outreach by engaging new participants and markets.

The summer schedule concludes with the Foundation’s flagship fundraiser — the 27th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament — on Monday, September 8, at Arcola Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. The tournament gathers media personalities, supporters, and golf enthusiasts for a day of sport and fundraising to benefit broadcasters in distress.

All event information, including registration, is available on the Broadcasters Foundation of America website.

The Foundation continues to receive widespread support from across the broadcasting industry. Its financial assistance efforts have grown significantly over the past decade and a half. In 2007, the Foundation awarded approximately $400,000 in aid. By 2024, that number had reached nearly $2 million, reflecting the increasing demand for assistance and the generosity of the media community.

The Foundation’s mission is to provide emergency and monthly financial assistance to broadcasters who have experienced illness, accident, or other serious misfortune. The summer series not only raises vital funds but also builds community and awareness around the Foundation’s work.

As the organization heads into another summer of events, it aims to strengthen its network of support while extending its impact to more broadcasters across the country.
