TuneIn expands its footprint in Stellantis vehicles.

Stingray has announced an agreement under which TuneIn will be integrated directly into select future Stellantis vehicles, giving drivers access to more than 100,000 live radio stations along with podcasts, music, sports and news. (Investors & Press)

Stellantis is a massive global automotive manufacturing corporation that owns 14 distinct car brands, including Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, Opel, Alfa Romeo, Vauxhall, Lancia, and DS Automobiles serve various local and specialized markets.

The agreement places TuneIn inside the vehicle’s native audio environment rather than requiring drivers to launch the service independently from a phone. The catalog includes programming from local, national and international broadcasters.

TuneIn CEO Rich Stern said, “Stellantis is an incredible partner that shares our vision for creating exceptional in-car experiences.”

For radio broadcasters, the deal is another example of how the connected-car dashboard is becoming a distribution point for terrestrial radio streams alongside other digital audio services.

The development also comes as automakers continue expanding the number of audio sources available through vehicle infotainment systems. For stations, that means maintaining accurate metadata, reliable streams and properly functioning digital distribution can affect how easily their programming is discovered through third-party automotive platforms.

The agreement covers future Stellantis models, although the companies have not specified a complete vehicle-by-vehicle rollout schedule.
