MediaCo is expanding its digital presence with the launch of a 24/7 FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) video channel for iconic Hip Hop station Hot 97 WQHT New York. Branded as “Hot 97 TV,” the new channel will offer round-the-clock content, starting with a live daily broadcast of the station’s popular morning show, “Ebro in the Morning.” This marks one of the first major projects to emerge since MediaCo’s acquisition of Estrella Media in 2024, as the company moves to integrate content production across its properties.
“Hot 97 TV” will include original programs highlighting the station’s most recognizable talent and events. Featured shows will include a live special from Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert and coverage of the 2026 Trace Awards. The schedule will also feature “Bridging Cultures,” a program exploring the global intersections of Afro culture and Hip Hop, along with shows led by afternoon host Nessa and legendary night host Funkmaster Flex. The aim is to create an immersive video experience that reflects the culture and energy of the Hot 97 brand.
Beyond Hot 97, MediaCo’s Estrella TV division is also ramping up its reach. The syndicated Spanish-language morning show “Don Cheto Al Aire” will now air live across the EstrellaTV Network, its FAST channel, mobile app, YouTube, and Facebook. This aligns with the company’s broader strategy to deliver diverse, multiplatform content that appeals to Hispanic and Black audiences.
MediaCo Interim CEO Albert Rodriguez emphasized the significance of this new phase, stating, “It’s a new day for Estrella Media, Hot 97, and WBLS — now together under MediaCo. We have built an organization capable of delivering unparalleled solutions across video, audio, and events for national and local advertisers on all platforms.”
Chief Operating Officer René Santaella added, “Our focus is on driving innovation in content, technology, and distribution to super-serve multicultural audiences in today’s multiplatform world. We are going big in 2025 with thousands of hours of new original content driven by live and interactive experiences and making it available for free on all platforms.”
The “Hot 97 TV” channel is set to debut in 2025, offering fans new ways to engage with the station’s influential voice in Hip Hop culture.
