Nearly a year after opening the Low Power FM (LPFM) application window, the FCC has announced tentative selectees from 93 groups of over 1,300 mutually exclusive applications for new station construction permits. The application window, initially set for December 6-13, 2023, was extended by two days due to technical issues. Selectees were chosen based on a point system, with the highest-scoring applicants designated. Starting October 16, there is a 30-day period for petitions to deny, a 90-day window for voluntary time-share proposals, and a 60-day period for major change amendments.
