Loyal opposition.

The Heritage Foundation, creators of Project 2025, oppose the FCC’s proposal to require disclosure of AI-generated content in political ads, arguing it infringes on free speech. In a letter to FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, the foundation claims the FCC is overstepping its authority, which is limited to ensuring equal access and sponsorship transparency. They argue the rule would create uneven regulations, only affecting broadcasters while leaving digital platforms unchecked. The foundation also warns it could impose undue burdens on content creators. They call for the FCC to abandon the proposal, leaving AI regulation to Congress and the FEC.
