DLC Media, Inc., led by President Dave Crooks, is closing its doors as Crooks retires, selling off its six stations in Indiana and Illinois. Three stations, including WAXI 104.9 and WAKO-FM 103.1, are being acquired by 3 Towers Broadcasting, while the remaining three, including WVIG 105.5 and WFNB 92.7, are sold to JKO Media, Inc. The FCC will review and approve the ownership transfers, with Crooks anticipating a smooth transition by May 1st. Crooks, who began his radio career at 16 in 1980, has been active in the industry and served as an Indiana State Representative from 1996-2008. Editor’s $0.02: Dave is a longtime SMRN reader; we wish him the best.
