Mike Hubbard, owner of the Auburn Network, comprising more than half a dozen radio stations and translator signals in small Alabama markets, is serving a four-year prison term for ethics violations committed while he was in the state legislature. Now, the FCC has designated for hearing whether to revoke Hubbard’s radio licenses since his criminal conviction triggers character issues that violate broadcast ownership standards. Hubbard has a deal in place to sell his group to the similarly-named Auburn Networks LLC, owned by Frank Lee Perryman, but cannot proceed with the deal while the character issues are pending against Hubbard.
