The FCC has put forward a proposed fine of $7,500 for WIN Radio Broadcasting Corp. due to the installation of an incorrect antenna during the construction of W232DE/Potomac, MD. WIN relocated the translator from New Tripoli, PA to rebroadcast Spanish Hits WCTN-A in Potomac-Cabin John, MD. However, the company used a different antenna than the one specified in its application because the specified antenna was too large for the existing tower. Despite complaints of interference from Historic Takoma, Inc., the FCC ruled that WIN’s violations did not warrant the expiration of the station’s permit but recommended a fine.
