The four current Commissioners (minus the recently-departed Mignon Clyburn) went before the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee last week for an oversight hearing, this one a deep dive into the Commission’s screw-ups in the whole Net Neutrality affair, among other things. One headline to come out of the hearing: White House Counsel Don McGahn called FCC Chairman Pai to discuss the Sinclair-Tribune deal while it was still alive. Pai assured the committee that the call came after the Chairman had already announced that he would refer the merger to an Administrative Law Judge.
