FEMA and the FCC will be conducting a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and the Wireless Emergency Alert system on October 4th at 2:20pm ET. This is a test of the system and is not an emergency. If you receive a test message, please do not take any action. The test will last for about one minute and will send the message, “This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, covering the United States from 14:20 to 14:50 hours ET. This is only a test. No action is required by the public.”
