On October 18, 2024, the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau issued its second round of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters to randomly selected radio stations, with allowances for those affected by recent hurricanes. The audits review the EEO programs of approximately five percent of broadcast licensees, and selected stations must upload responses by December 2. However, stations in areas hit by Hurricanes Helene or Milton (Florida, Georgia, and nearby states) have until January 16, 2025, to respond. The FCC will contact stations directly if issues arise during the review, and non-compliance may result in fines or license penalties.
