Congress people support AI regs.

Eight U.S. senators, including Amy Klobuchar and Raphael Warnock, are urging the FCC to implement rules requiring disclosure of AI-generated content in political ads before the 2024 election. In a letter to FCC Secretary Marlene Dortch, they expressed concerns about AI’s potential to spread misinformation, incite violence, or suppress voter turnout. They support a clear definition of “AI-generated content” and suggest the rules take effect 90 days before an election and extend through the certification process. With early voting already underway in some states, they emphasized the need for swift action to protect election integrity.
