The Cleveland Cavaliers have named iHeartMedia Cleveland the team’s official and exclusive radio home, expanding the relationship to 19 iHeartMedia stations across Ohio and nearby markets. The agreement covers all 82 regular-season games, preseason games and every playoff game, with broadcasts distributed through the Rock Entertainment Sports Network. (NBA)
WTAM 1100 AM/106.9 FM and 100.7 FM WMMS will remain the Cleveland flagship stations. The network will also reach listeners in Akron, Canton, Ashland, Chillicothe, Columbus, Dayton, Defiance, Erie, Pa., Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Parkersburg, W.Va., Toledo and Youngstown.
The Cavaliers have also confirmed that games will remain available through the Cavs App and iHeartRadio App.
The deal gives iHeart a broader footprint for local sports programming and advertising around one of Ohio’s largest professional sports properties. It also moves every Cavaliers radio broadcast under one ownership group, rather than dividing the team’s audio distribution among competing radio operators.
For station groups, the agreement illustrates how exclusive local sports rights can be extended beyond a flagship market into a larger regional network, creating additional inventory around live play-by-play, pregame and postgame programming.
