The Antitrust Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee has issued a report finding |evidence of monopolization and monopoly power| in the case of the mega digital |gatekeepers| Amazon, Apple, Google, and Facebook. The report reveals that among the literally hundreds of proposed acquisitions by the four tech companies, only one had been investigated by government antitrust agencies. The report concludes that these four are so dominant that they are |unlikely to be eroded by competitive pressure from new entrants or existing firms.| The subcommittee recommendations include much stricter oversight of the targeted companies, and strengthening antitrust laws and enforcement in general.
