The Broadcasters Foundation of America chose this past Tuesday, “Giving Tuesday,” to kick off its annual year-end fundraising appeal to individuals (the Guardian Fund) and corporations (the Angel Initiative). The Broadcasters Foundation exists for only one purpose: to help broadcasters in need. To that end, in 2019 the Foundation will have awarded more than $1.3 million – an increase of over 75% in just four years. According to BFOA Chairman Dan Mason, “These funds make a huge difference in the lives of broadcasters and their families. Our grant recipients are hard-working broadcasters who have experienced unthinkable tragedy and desperately need and deserve our support.”
