The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFoA) is launching the “12 Days of Giving,” a holiday-themed social media campaign expressing gratitude and highlighting positive aspects of broadcasters and philanthropy. The BFoA, which has distributed over $15 million in aid over two decades, aims to award approximately $1.8 million this year. President Tim McCarthy emphasizes the need to reach radio and television professionals through various channels, while BFoA Chair Scott Herman sees the campaign as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness, particularly among junior-level individuals in broadcasting. The BFoA has focused on engaging with emerging professionals in the industry through Media Mixers in New York City and Chicago, with plans for more in 2024.
